Northern Berkshire County Restaurants
Updated: Dec 7, 2022
Berkshire County has so many great restaurant options. From homestyle diners to upscale bistros, you'll find it all!
We're hungry! Where should we go to eat?! It's a common question I get from buyers who come from out of town to look at properties. Luckily, there are so many great options for food in the Berkshires! We'll stick to just the Northern #Berkshires for this article - because there are so many great #restaurants in the Berkshires (and this article lists only some of them!).
We'll start with breakfast. As we all know, it's the most important meal of the day! You won't be disappointed with the breakfast at Renee's Diner in North Adams. FYI - it's cash only. You'll also find an incredible breakfast (and other meals!) down the road at The Break Room at Greylock Works.
If you are more into donuts for breakfast, you simply must check out Shire Donuts in Adams.
Of course, what breakfast would be complete without #coffee?? Definitely grab a cup of Tunnel City Coffee. They have shops in Williamstown and on the MASS MoCA campus, and a roastery at the Norad Mill in North Adams.
Also at the Norad Mill is the Norad Cafe, where you'll find incredibly stuffed sandwiches, made-to-order soups (with homemade croutons), and more.
Closer to downtown North Adams Bright Ideas Brewing, on the MASS MoCA campus. It's not a restaurant, but who doesn't love #beer? Afterward - swing by Desperado's on Eagle Street for a margarita and Mexican fare.
Another North Adams staple is Jack's Hot Dog Stand, where they have been grilling hot dogs since 1917! You can also get a quick bite to eat at Tres Ninos, a Mexican take-out spot on Marshall Street in North Adams. If you're looking for more of a sports bar there is Mingo's Sports Bar & Grill.
If Italian is more your style, Grazie offers traditional Italian cuisine in a beautiful setting - with amazing cocktails! The cocktails at Public are also incredible...not to rival the incredible food menu though!
For a fun pub atmosphere, check out the Freight Yard Pub in North Adams. They have great burgers and beers and live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. You can also try their sister restaurant, the Trail House, which offers beautiful patio dining.
Another local pub is AJ'S Trailside Pub in Adams. Just off the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, it's known for its huge Bloody Marys and pub food.
Also in Adams is the Daily Grind. The restaurant just celebrated 25 years in business in March of 2022 and has an extensive menu with daily specials.
Also popular in Williamstown is Mezze Bistro + Bar, a bistro-style restaurant offering contemporary American cuisine. Coyote Flaco is another terrific Williamstown restaurant. They have great margaritas and mojitos and a terrific menu.
Keep in mind, this is just a small list of the many terrific restaurants we have in Berkshire County! We are very fortunate to have many wonderful places to eat and drink!
